Tonbridge

Tonbridge is an historic town, well-known for its culture and heritage. The Castle and Church, River Medway, a Public School, fine traditions of sport and a variety of shopping facilities all make Tonbridge a town with something for all ages and interests.

The magnificent 13th century Motte and Bailey Castle stands tall above the River Medway and is still the dominant feature of the town today. Its grounds provide an ideal picnic spot in the summer months or the chance to take a relaxing break away from the bustling High Street. This is the perfect setting for a varied programme of events running throughout the year which include the popular May Festival and Carnival, Summer Band Concerts and Art Exhibitions.

Attractive timber framed buildings can be found dotted throughout the town as well as fine 18th century weather boarded and tiled houses. The famous Tonbridge School stands at the top of the town.

At the Tonbridge campus, students benefit from brand new buildings including a fantastic Media and Arts centre seating 500, providing a flexible teaching and performing space for music, dance and theatre. There are 20 hours of classes per week inc. English in Action & UK Culture.
